Newport News, Va. - The USS Abraham Lincoln docked at the Newport News Shipyard Thursday morning.
The Navy's fifth Nimitz-class aircraft carrier is there for its midlife refueling and overhaul.
The overhaul is possible due to a $40 million contract awarded to Huntington Ingalls Industries.
The contractor will do much of the work.
The overhaul is scheduled to take about four years.
