Update: The victim has now been identified as Rodney D. Fitzpatrick of Hampton.
Portsmouth, Va. – A man died this morning when he crashed his Ford Escort into a Chevy Camero.
It happened on Interstate 264 eastbound, headed towards Norfolk, just before 2 a.m., according to Virginia State Police.
Investigators determined the driver of the Ford Escort was thrown from his car when he lost control and flipped his car several times. He was taken to Norfolk General where he died from his injuries.
The victim has now been identified as Rodney D. Fitzpatrick of Hampton.
The driver of the Chevy Camero was not hurt.
State Police are still investigating this crash.
