(CNN) — A terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport was evacuated early Monday as explosive teams looked into a suspicious device.
Screeners with the Transportation Security Administration noticed something suspicious in a passenger’s carry-on luggage, said airport spokesman Michael Conway. “We have a couple of explosive device teams that are working to resolve this, and in the meantime we have moved everybody a safe distance away.”
While the north terminal was evacuated, the larger terminal continued normal operations, Conway said.
The passenger carrying the suspicious item is not under arrest but is being detained, and all passengers are being delayed, Conway said.
