Last September, a lab mix dog was found near death, chained next to a house on Virginia Avenue in Portsmouth.
In fact, when Animal Control officers first arrived – they thought the dog was dead!
That is, until the she opened her eyes. The Portsmouth Humane Society named her “Hope” and today Hope is doing remarkably well. From being emaciated, covered with flies, and too weak to even stand, Hope has made a complete 180 to the energetic dog she is today.
