Distracted by the Future

Ziva continues searching for her father’s killer while working on cases.

Me: I’m so excited to see what’s going to happen with Ziva and Tony overseas!

Dad: That’s the next episode. How about we focus on this one?

Me: Do I have to? I wanted to know what she was up to, so I didn’t really care about the case.

Dad: Me either.

I had trouble focusing on “NCIS” this week. Not because the episode was bad, but because I cared too much about Ziva and her mission to find her father’s killer. I looked back in my notes and I think two bullet points were about the actual case. I even missed picking up on the idea that the guy staged his death!

Dad: Wow, you missed that?

Me: I was distracted. I told you that.

Dad: I wish I could have been distracted when Palmer showed up.

Me: At least he stood up to Ducky this time.

Dad: Wow, big whoop. Like Ducky is that intimidating.

Me: I think you’re just determined not to like him.

Dad: That’s true.

Did you catch Tony’s face when he realized Ziva left him out of the loop? There was a whole lot of hurt built up in his face. I think it was more than just being left out of the Ziva/McGee team.

Dad: What do you mean?

Me: He loves her! Of course he wants to be there for her!

Dad: You sap. I hope there’s a lot of action overseas, and I mean the kicking-butt kind.

Me: I know what you meant!

Dad: Just making sure. Ha, ha, ha.

I think my favorite part was at the end when Director Vance gave Ziva his approval for searching for the killer. You know he’d be right there with them if he could.
