Portsmouth, Va. – Crews will be working to connect Norfolk’s new 36-inch water line beginning Wednesday, April 10, through Saturday, April 20.

The intersection of Claremont Avenue and Brambleton Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from 7 a.m. April 10, through 7 p.m. on April 20. (This work was previously scheduled to begin April 5.)

A signed detour will be in place utilizing Raleigh Avenue, Orapax Street and Redgate Avenue.

The new water line replaces and improves upon an existing 30-inch line that feeds raw water from the western reservoirs to the 37th Street Water Treatment Plant in Norfolk, which provides water to the western part of Norfolk and the Norfolk Naval Station.
