Portsmouth Police arrested a 64-year-old woman Monday morning after she led officers on a car chase through three cities.
According to Jan Clark with the Portsmouth Police Department, an officer attempted to stop Dorothy Louise Evans for a suspected DUI.
Evans led police on a chase through Portsmouth onto I-264 and through portions of Suffolk and Chesapeake before Chesapeake Police were able to deploy a spike strip and ultimately stop Evans.
The spike strip flattened two of the tires on Evans’ vehicle on I-64 westbound just before the High Rise Bridge.
She was arrested and charged with eluding police while endangering a person.
She was not charged with DUI but will be evaluated for possible mental illness issues.
