Virginia Beach Police are reporting that a suspicious package was discovered at the Bayside Post Office at 2109 Thoroughgood Road on Wednesday afternoon.
The package was left on the counter inside the building.
The building was evacuated and bomb units responded to the scene.
It was later discovered that a man forgot his bag at the post office and returned to retrieve it.
The post office is back to business and police have cleared the scene. They have confirmed there is no hazard.
