Today we honor Pharmacist Mate Second Class Nathan Kessler.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served for two and a half years on the USS Refuge.
During that time he went to Africa, Europe and the Pacific.
Kessler was even stationed at Naval Station Norfolk.
Kessler passed away earlier this week at 90 years old.
His family says they wanted News Channel 3 to honor his service.
