About 3 million Americans are infected with Hepatitis C.

But a new study suggests only half of them go for follow-up tests to see if their bodies have cleared the virus, or if they're still infected.

That means people may not be getting the treatment they need to prevent liver cancer and other serious complications.

Research from the Centers for Disease Control suggests as many as three out of four people with Hepatitis C don't know they have it.
