Hampton man arrested for allegedly breaking into tobacco shop

Hampton, Va. – An 18-year-old Hampton man was arrested early Thursday morning after he allegedly broke into the Bonzai Pipe and Tobacco Shop on East Pembroke Avenue.

Police were alerted by an alarm at the shop at 2:45 am and found that someone had used a rock to break a rear window, stolen several tobacco items and left through the front door.

Police arrested Michael Montalvo as he was walking across the street from the shop.

He has been charged with one count of Breaking and Entering, one count of Possession of Burglary Tools and one count of Larceny. He is currently incarcerated at the Hampton City Jail.
