LANDRUM, S.C. — A South Carolina school is being both criticized and praised after a fourth grade ‘science quiz’ involving dinosaurs and the Bible went viral.

MSN reported that a photo of the quiz came from Blue Ridge Christian Academy, a private Christian school in Landrum, and was posted to the social news website Reddit.

The quiz asked questions involving whether or not the Earth is billions of years old and whether or not dinosaurs lived millions of years ago.

The student who allegedly took the quiz marked both answers as “false” and reportedly received a 100 percent.

The quiz has sparked a heated debate about whether or not children should be taught creationism in school.

An official with the school said they are struggling financially and may be forced to close after this school year.

But officials said they are getting an unexpected financial boost from the controversy, from people donating in support.

They said they have been receiving donations ranging from $1 to $1,000 and continue to be flooded with encouraging notes and emails.
