Hampton, Va. - Hampton Fire and Rescue units responded to the scene of an incident where a car was submerged in the water off of the LaSalle Avenue extended bridge.
It happened Wednesday morning, May 22. The person was helped out of the water by a resident, officials say. The person was then transported to the hospital.
Units remained on the scene to help HAZMAT crews remove petroleum from the water. A private contractor removed the vehicle from the water.
