A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred last Thursday at the Bayside Inn in Virginia Beach had the charges against him Nolle Prossed February 25, 2014.
The 2013 shooting happened just after 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the Bayside Inn on Pleasure House Road.
The Bayside Inn was hosting a music competition night at their business, police say, until closing at 2 a.m. At the time, there appeared to be approximately 70 people at the club.
Police say a person walked up to a group of people standing outside and asked about what band was playing. They say the person walked away. That’s when police say he started shooting.
Officers say two men were shot.
The first victim, a 23-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but did require surgery.
The second victim, a 30-year-old man, responded to a hospital on his own.
Gary Lee Drew was arrested and charged with felonious assault, aggravated malicious assault, two counts of use of a firearm, and reckless handling of a firearm.
