UPDATE: Police arrested Germiracle Raheem Freeman in Chesapeake without incident. Freeman is charged with Murder and Use of a Firearm and is in the Norfolk City Jail.

Norfolk, Va – A shooting early Sunday left a Norfolk man dead and police looking for the person who pulled the trigger.

Police said Corey M. Hall, 37, was found in the grass in front of apartments on Lincoln Street near Brambleton Avenue shortly after midnight. He died at the hospital.

“I was laying in bed when I heard the shooting. They shot five or six times, then there was a break, and then before you knew it there were about four mores shots,” said Amanda Lawson.

Lawson lives down the street from where the shots were fired, and says gunfire is something she is used to in that area.

“I jumped on the floor as usual, because it don’t pay to be nosy and jump in front of the window around here, it is best to get on the floor,” said Lawson.

Police are looking for Germiracle Raheem Freeman, 31, of Mariner’s Way in Norfolk. They said when he is caught he will be charged with the murder.

If you see Freeman or know where he is police want to hear from you. He has several tattoos on his arms — MOB, a cross, cross with RIP written on it, and the phrase Lil Miracle.

With the on-going manhunt, Lawson said she will be moving.

“The 10 years I have been out here…I can’t take it no more, I have a grandchild and I refuse to have my grandchild brought up in this,” said Lawson.

Police are not releasing the motive of the deadly shooting or saying how the men knew each other.
