Update: Homes evacuated after gas leak in Suffolk; line now secure

Update: The line is now secure and residents have been allowed back in their homes.

Suffolk, Va. – Crews in Suffolk were on the scene of a gas leak at the intersection of Jordan Circle and Godwin Blvd. This was in the Elephant’s Fork area of the city and some homes were evacuated.

They say a contractor hit an unmarked gas line while doing sewer repair work.
