Virginia Beach, Va. – On Tuesday night, the Virginia Beach City Council voted to enforce an admissions tax on event promoters.

This means promoters must now collect 10% in taxes from their customers in order to pay the city.

The amount they must pay is based on the projected attendance with a minimum of $1, 000.

The city will also require event promoters to provide evidence of compliance with the bond.

This tax does not apply to conferences, conventions, or seminars where attendees are members of the organization prior to the event.
