Dare County, N.C. – A man is recovering in the hospital after deputies say he was seen jumping from the Baum Bridge on Tuesday morning.
They say the man stopped his car at the top of the Washington Baum Bridge over the Roanoke Sound and jumped over the side.
When authorities got there, they saw someone unloading a boat under the bridge and the boater took them to the person who jumped.
The jumper was brought onto the boat and shortly afterward he was transported to the Outer Banks Hospital.
Officials say he was conscious and he was able to talk.
