Virginia Beach, Va. - North Carolina State Police say Ralph Michael Taylor was too drunk to drive when, on his Harley-Davidson, he merged onto I-40 in Greensboro and drove into a tour bus.
No one on the bus was hurt, but Taylor and his passenger, Tammy Cassell, were taken to the hospital.
Later, police charged Taylor with driving drunk.
It’s the latest in a series of arrests since Virginia Beach paid Taylor $75,000 in a lawsuit. Taylor is the biological father of Braxton Taylor.
NewsChannel 3’s investigation of Braxton’s death in foster care led to a state audit, tougher rules, and a management shakeup. The director resigned.
Our investigation showed social workers knew that Braxton was bruised and listless. They also noted he’d been regressing.
But the social workers believed a troubled foster mother’s lies that Braxton fell down a lot.
Medical reports show the abuse was severe and ongoing and social workers either missed it or ignored it.
The foster mother pleaded guilty to manslaughter and Braxton’s parents were awarded cash in a lawsuit.
Since then, Taylor has been charged with several crimes, including DUI and drug dealing.
His new wife posted on her public Facebook page that Taylor got a Harley-Davidson after the settlement.
Taylor and his wife were on a Harley-Davidson when they crashed into the bus last week.
He was also charged with driving with a revoked license.
