Virginia Beach, Va. - Police have arrested an employee of a Virginia Beach Boost Mobile store who claimed he was beaten and robbed Monday afternoon.

54-year-old Ralph C. Nicholas had reported three men had entered the store and beat him with a gun while demanding money and merchandise.

Court documents show that investigators watched surveillance video from the entire day and discovered the robbery and attack never happened.

Police then searched Nicholas' home and found $5,900 and the store property that he said had been stolen.

Nicholas has been charged with embezzlement and filing a false report.
