Virginia Beach Public Works has announced that beginning Monday, July 22, 2013, crews will begin an inspection and survey process of the 61st Street Ocean Outfall.

There will be a number of all terrain vehicles traveling on and off the beach at 61st Street, so the hours of operation will be restricted to daylight hours only for safety reasons.

The project will include survey control coordination, pipe flushing and pipe inspection with remotely operated vehicles. The contractors for the work are MMM Design Group, Waterway Surveys and Engineering, Ltd., and Collins Engineers.

Work will begin on Monday and is scheduled to be completed by August 14, 2013 – weather permitting.
