Flames rip through Chesapeake home displacing four

Chesapeake, Va. – Four people have been displaced after fire damaged a two-story home on Hull Street in Chesapeake.

Crews say this happened on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters were on the scene at around 2:40 p.m. and found smoke coming from the home.

They were able to get the fire under control at 2:56 p.m.

The home is divided into two apartments on each floor and the fire was contained to the first floor kitchen which sustained significant damage.

Three people live in the upstairs apartment and two adults and two children live downstairs. One of the adults was confined to a wheelchair and she was pulled out by fire crews.

No one was injured during the fire crews say.

The residents who live in the upstairs apartment will be able to stay in the home crews say.
