There will be a mosquito aerial spraying at Langley Air Force Base and some of the surrounding area on July 23-25 from approximately 6:00 p.m. until dusk.

Areas that will be sprayed include Langley AFB, York County, Craney Island, The Navy Supply depot, The Portsmouth Coast Guard Station, and portions of Portsmouth neighboring the military bases.

After spraying Dibrom Concentrate, about 95% of adult mosquitoes should be killed.

The Joint-Base Langley-Eustis says the reduction in mosquito populations may last up to two weeks. Beekeepers are asked to cover bees during spraying times, and anybody with known allergic reactions should stay indoors.
