Danville, Va. - Virginia police rushed to a Danville home after they say a 6-year-old accidentally shot a 1-year-old baby girl this evening.
Police say seven people were inside a house at the time of the accident.
The 6-year-old found a .380 semi-automatic and accidentally fired it.
It only took one shot that police say went through a wall and right into the little girl's back while she was playing in another room.
The girl was rushed to the hospital where she underwent surgery and is now awake and stable.
Police say parents need to do a better job of locking up guns.
