Elizabeth City Police are investigating after a 58-year-old man was found dead in a shed at 203 Roanoke Avenue on Sunday night.
Police say a caller advised them that he had tried to wake 58-year-old Walter Ernest Cook, but that he was unresponsive.
Police and EMS arrived and found that Cook had been deceased for some time.
Cook is said to have frequented the area on occasion and was an acquaintance of the residents at 203 Roanoke Avenue.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday where it will be determined if foul play played a role in the death.
