Postal Service hopes beer, liquor can ease financial woes

When you’re $16 billion short, finding ways to save money after initial cuts can be difficult – just ask the U.S. Postal Service.

The USPS is considering alcohol delivery to increase revenue, with estimates that such a service could bring in up to $50 million a year, according to WTVR.

Push to end home mail delivery may spell end of creative mailboxes

For now, only UPS and FedEx can deliver alcoholic beverages, but an act of Congress could change that and make way for the Postal Service to compete in the business.

One brewery in Richmond believes if it comes to fruition, it could be a benefit for the industry.
