HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. — The Highland Park house that gained prominence in the 1986 film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is back on the market.
The asking price is $1.5 million.
The property was first listed in 2009 for $2.3 million but found no takers. The price was reduced twice before coming off the market in 2011 for some light rehab work.
Now, the Rose family, who are the only owners the property ever has had, relisted the property on Monday for a new, lower price. The four-bedroom main house was built in 1953, while the pavilion was built about 20 years later to house an exotic car collection.
In a classic scene from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” Bueller’s friend Cameron Frye, sends a classic 1961 Ferrari crashing through the pavilion’s plate glass windows into a ravine.
The Chicago Tribune reports that listing agent Meladee Hughes of Coldwell Banker declined to comment.
