Newport News, Va. – Two people were shot in front of the Bronx Deli in Newport News on Tuesday night.
Calls came in about the incident at 8:44 p.m.
Police say two men were standing in front of the deli in the 2400 block of Oak Avenue when they were both shot in the leg.
When police arrived, they found a 29-year-old man on the floor inside the deli suffering from a gunshot wound to his right ankle.
Several minutes later, a 54-year-old man was located in the 1200 block of 22nd Street suffering from a gunshot wound to his thigh.
Both sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses and victims indicate that they heard several gunshots, however no suspects were observed and at this time a motive for the shooting is unknown.
