Virginia Beach, Va. - A disabled Beach police officer told NewsChannel 3 the city was wrongly blocking his benefits.

He asked investigator Mike Mather to take action.

Officer Chris Newbould badly hurt his shoulder in a crash with a drunk driver.

After five surgeries, his doctor told him he could no longer be a cop.

But what added insult to his injury is an email from the city, saying if he didn`t take a low-paying clerical job, he`d lose his police benefits.

“I am leaving disabled. Disabled. I have one good arm. And they are kicking me to the curb and giving me nothing. And they said it is the policy, sorry,” said Newbould.

They changed their tune when Mike Mather started asking questions.
