An 18-year-old incoming freshman at Ball State University in Indianapolis won a semester’s worth of out-of -state tuition by hitting a half-court shot at a welcome week event.
The total value for Markus Burden’s basket is $11,084, according to the Journal and Courier.
“It was an overwhelming feeling,” the Frankfort, Ill., native told the paper. “It just gives us a lot of breathing room right now.”
