A 51-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly shooting a man in the buttocks in Newport News.
Police say they responded to the 700 block of 17th Street just before midnight in reference to a female armed with a gun.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Jeddye Lee Collins, was arrested at the scene and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
