Norfolk, Va. - A babysitter has been charged with molesting a three-year-old girl.

"My daughter actually told me and he was still here so I had to like go to sleep knowing that that happened from what she said, and then as soon as we woke up we took her," the girl's mother says.

NewsChannel 3 isn't giving the name of the victim's mother to protect the identity of the little girl. Aaron Burns has been charged with aggravated sexual battery and taking indecent liberties with a child.

"I felt like he was my brother," the girl's mother said.

Burns had watched the family's two young children for a year. Court records show police say burns admitted he inappropriately touched the three-year-old girl while he was caring for her.

And the girl's mother has had a difficult time explaining to her daughter what happened.

"She doesn't sleep at night by herself, she's scared of the dark. She wets herself when before she was fully potty trained."

Search warrants show police searched Burns' computer and cell phone, looking for child pornography.

Later the victim's father says he found a file titled "child porn" on Burns' laptop.

At this time Norfolk police aren't saying if they found any pictures.

Whether or not they did doesn't matter much to the girl's mother who just wishes something so horrible hadn't happened to her little girl.

"You have to watch out no matter what the background check says really," the girl's mother says.
