Man taken into custody after climbing on top of Beach Convention Center

Virginia Beach, Va. – A man was taken into custody on Monday afternoon after police say he climbed on top of the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

He was taken into custody at around 2:37 p.m.

Once he was finally on the ground moments later, emergency crews took him into custody to be evaluated.

Police say they do not know if he wanted to harm himself and he never threatened to jump.

Police say they are not releasing the name of the man involved.
