Suffolk, VA – It is now illegal to leave your dog tied up outside.
A new ordinance prohibiting dog tethering goes into effect September 1st, 2013.
This was passed by City Council in June.
Violating the ordinance is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to 250 dollars.
