Hampton man arrested after chase into Suffolk

A 27-year-old Hampton man was arrested after leading Hampton and Suffolk Police on a chase Wednesday afternoon.

Hampton detectives were following Dominique Severn Williams on an active warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Williams entered Suffolk and Suffolk Police were notified at 12:41 p.m.

Officers located Williams driving a red Nissan Altima on Bennetts Pasture Road and he continued to flee, eventually turning into a driveway in the 100 block of Sweetbrier Lane.

Williams and another suspect fled on foot and were apprehended by Suffolk Police a short distance later.

There were no injuries and no property damage.

Williams was arrested on charges of Felony Elude Police, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Violent Felon, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm while Possessing a Schedule  I or II Narcotic, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana (less than a half ounce), Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Reckless Driving, Driving While License Revoked – 3rd Offense and an outstanding warrant from Hampton on Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

He is currently being held in Western Tidewater Regional Jail on no bond.

The second suspect’s identity has not been released.
