Newport News, Virginia – Alton Chavis was found dead at Riverview Farm Park around 8:00pm Saturday.
According to police, park rangers on routine patrol saw a bicycle near one of the shelters, then located the man who was sitting at a table slumped over.
Medics arrived and pronounced the man deceased.
Police say the man is described as a white male appearing to be between 50-60 years old, about 5’9″, weighing 240-250 pounds and has brown hair with some gray. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, khaki shorts and sandals.
The bike that was located near the man is a silver Raleigh 24-speed mountain bike.
Police say there are no signs of foul play.
The man’s identity has not yet been released by police.
