Newport News, Va. – A Newport News woman is now facing burglary and abduction charges after an incident over the weekend, police tell NewsChannel 3.

It happened on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Around 7:45 p.m., police responded to Arch Street in reference to an assault. The caller indicated her 13-year-old daughter was assaulted by a woman known to them as Rhonda Muldrow.

The caller and her 15-year-old and 13-year-old daughters were in their front yard, when Rhonda Muldrow came onto the yard.

During a verbal argument between Muldrow and the victim, Muldrow allegedly picked up a lawn chair and threw it at the 13-year-old. The 13-year-old was then put inside her home by her mother and sister, police say.

Muldrow allegedly opened the door, grabbed the victim, and tried to pull her outside. Police were called to the scene; Muldrow left the scene on foot.

The investigation and witness statements helped police to locate and arrest Muldrow. She is charged with burglary and abduction.
