Viewers sent in pictures of a dead dolphin floating on its back in the Chesapeake Bay on Wednesday.

Hundreds of bottlenose dolphins have washed ashore in Hampton Roads.

More than 300 dolphins washed up from New York to North Carolina this summer and most were found here in Virginia.

Results show many died from a measles-like virus and there is no cure.

If you spot a dead dolphin, please do not go near it. Call 757-385-7575 instead.
