Suffolk, Va. - Pesky critters are affecting firefighters in Suffolk.

Fire station one will be empty until the morning because it had to be exterminated for bed bugs.

Crews working out of this station on Market Street had to be temporarily relocated.

On Monday, an employee noticed small bites. Exterminators came in and fumigated although there wasn't an infestation.

The station decided to upgrade all the mattresses, box springs and linens.

All crews should be back at station one tomorrow morning. The city says this has not had an impact on response times by fire units.
