Norfolk, Va. – After the sudden firing of Norfolk State’s previous president, Tony Atwater, the university has now appointed an interim president to lead the university while they search for a permanent replacement.
The Board of Visitors has appointed Eddie N. Moore, Jr. who will begin on September 23rd. Moore was recently the president of St. Paul’s College until June 2012.
He stated that he would work to regain the public’s trust and faith in the university.
“I will specifically work on regaining the confidence of the state and federal governments as it relates to our financial records and will work to mitigate NSU’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) issues,” Moore says.
He accepted the appointment on Friday afternoon.
