Norfolk, Va. - People across Hampton Roads are taking action for the community.

While it's Friday the 13th - it's also United Way's Day of Caring.

Hundreds of people across Hampton Roads are joining forces to make a difference in their communities.

NewsChannel 3 caught up with a group from LoanCare Servicing.

These volunteers took a day off work to clean up the Young Terrace complex in Norfolk.

It's one of the most economically depressed neighborhoods in Norfolk.

The group is not only picking up trash, but also will be mulching and planting new plants.

Young Terrace is just one of 16 locations across the area where volunteers are making a huge impact when they usually would be at work.

Several folks living in Young Terrace say they are so grateful after seeing these volunteers trying to improve their neighborhood.
