A woman is devastated after her stepfather died in an 8-vehicle accident on Route 460. But she says she plans to honor him by following in his footsteps.
"He looked so much like the Hulk that no matter where we go, people stopped us and wanted to take pictures with him," said Jennifer Rush about her step-dad, Tommy Rush.
Memories are all she has left after hearing her stepfather Tommy Rush, better known as "The Hulkster," was the man who died in the crash.
He was driving his semi-truck, driving grain to Windsor.
"Because he was such a good driver, I would never in a million years imagine that my dad would die in a trucking accident," Jennifer said.
Suffolk police are still investigating the crash, and are asking anyone who saw it to give them a call. But for Jennifer, it isn't the cause, but her family's loss.
"He just told me Saturday that he is invincible."
That Saturday, he was also teaching Jennifer how to drive a truck -- something she's always wanted to do.
During their lesson, he banned her from one thing...
"He told me on Saturday, I don`t want you hauling no grain. They set them up higher and they`re top heavy, and they sway with the wind. It`s not easy to drive when you`re hauling grain he said... But he said, I`m experienced," Jennifer told NewsChannel 3.
But her stepfather's death isn't stopping her from following in his footsteps.
"I`ve put so much time and effort into it, he wouldn't want me to give up now. I`m just going to follow in my dad`s footsteps, and I know he`s going to ride with me every day."
