A 16-year-old Newport New girl was struck by a vehicle as she was on her way to school Thursday morning.
The incident happened at 6:38 a.m. at Colony Road and Eastwood Drive.
A 42-year-old man was driving a Chevy Tahoe going eastbound on Eastwood Dr. when he girl stepped into the street and was hit.
The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not issued a summons.
