Currituck, NC – The Currituck-Knotts Island ferry will be adjusting departure times for three of its weekday runs.
Ferry officials worked with transportation officials from Currituck County Schools to make the changes.
The following changes are effective October 1 and affect weekday departures only:
• The 3:45 departure from Currituck will now leave at 3:30.
• The 5:45 departure from Currituck will now leave at 5:30.
• The 6:30 departure from Knotts Island will now leave at 6:20.
The schedule adjustments are being made to more closely align with Currituck County School schedules, NCDOT says. Students who live on Knotts Island use the Currituck ferry to avoid a lengthy drive through Virginia to attend schools on the Currituck mainland.
