Starting next week, the flu vaccine will be offered to eligible TRICARE beneficiaries at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and its branch clinics.
The FluMist will protect individuals against four strains of influenza officials say.
The immunizations will be available at the medical center in Portsmouth from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. An evening clinic will be held on October 31st from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be a Saturday clinic held from Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Naval Station Norfolk Branch Clinic will offer the vaccine Monday through Thursday from 8-11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. They will also offer it on Fridays from 8 to 11 a.m.
Admiral Joel T. Boone Branch Clinic at Joint Base Little Creek-Fort Story will offer flu vaccine 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; flu vaccine will be available on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Flu vaccines will also be available for all beneficiaries during the Retiree Fair at Rockwell Hall Gym on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Oceana Branch Clinic will offer flu immunizations from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. During October, the clinic will have extended flu vaccine hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:30 p.m. Saturday flu clinics have been planned for Oct. 26 and Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dam Neck Branch Clinic will offer flu vaccines Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Hours on Friday are 7:30 to 11 a.m.
Norfolk Naval Shipyard Branch Clinic will offer flu vaccines from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Northwest Branch Clinic will offer flu vaccine from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Yorktown Branch Clinic will offer flu vaccine Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.; and on Fridays from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Beneficiaries enrolled to TRICARE Prime Clinics in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake should call to make an appointment for their flu vaccines.
