The state of Virginia now has millions of dollars of grant money to spend on making the streets safer.
3.3 million dollars was secured by Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine.
Nearly 2 million will go toward the “Cops Hiring Program.”
With some of that money, 10 new officers will be hired in Newport News.
