Hundreds of furloughed workers in Hampton Roads are heading back to work today.

And a large number of those returning this morning are at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

As we enter week two of the federal shutdown, the defense secretary says workers who support the military are exempt from the furloughs because of the Pay Our Military Act.

Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Fort Eutis told its people about it on Facebook.

If you are a government worker and worked last week not knowing if and when you would get paid - the good news is you will be paid on time - if you did not work - you will not be paid for the furlough days unless the Retroactive Pay Act is signed by the president.
