Newport News, Va. – A 42-year-old woman has been charged after police say she stabbed her boyfriend in the buttocks with a steak knife during a dispute.

Police say the incident happened just after 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of 22nd Street.

They say a 55-year-old man told police that his girlfriend, Foncelia Eular Smith, stabbed him in the buttocks with a knife during an argument.

Smith was then charged with malicious wounding. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
