Company claims DNA test can measure a child’s predisposition for sports

With so many sports options for kids, parents find themselves making a lot of decisions.

Now a Colorado company is offering a DNA test that it claims can measure your child’s natural predisposition for a particular sport, according to KDVR.

Atlas Sports Genetics offers the test for $169.

The test looks for variants in each of the two ACTN3 genes.  The company claims two, one or no variants mean particular advantages for certain types of sports.

Doctors, however, warn not to read too much into the results.
