McDonald’s wants to start using 3D printers to print toys for unhappy kids

Posted

The IT director of McDonald’s is toying with a new idea – using in-store 3D printers to print Happy Meal toys.

IT Director Mark Fabes says using the 3D printers on-site would allow staff to print toys of the child’s choice if the child doesn’t like the toy being offered by McDonald’s at the time.

The ability to print toys on demand could be a draw for families to visit McDonald’s but the idea is still just an idea.

Apart from cost considerations, there is the issue of whether plastic smelting machines were appropriate for use in food outlets.
